My name is Amy Griffin and I live in Warrenton, Virginia, with my husband and our two children. We wanted to be able to find information about local businesses we use, and find it fast. We couldn't find any websites that satisfied our needs, the online directories that we found were incomplete or not kept up to date, even the local phone book makes us sort through listings and advertisements from lots of businesses outside the county. When we are looking for a store, a restaurant or a plumber, we like to know that we are getting information for businesses local to us, because we don't want to have to drive very far and like to support businesses in our community.

      My background allows me to do something about this problem. I spent ten years as a computer programmer and analyst before having children. After they started school I began to do some work for a local company doing computer databases and created their website. They also had a need for someone to do drafting work, which I had done by hand as an engineering student in college. In order to fill the need I had to learn Computer Assisted Drafting, which I taught myself and spent the next 3 years doing the drafting work. When I stopped working for that company to complete some remodeling on our home, I was ready for a new project.

     That is when I decided to start inFauquier.com to give everyone in the county a fast and convenient way to find business information that is complete and up to date. For now inFauquier.com includes retail consumer businesses in Fauquier County (over 1800 of them so far) and contacts for local government and schools, later I will be adding the non consumer businesses. inFauquier.com provides a service for everyone, businesses and residents of Fauquier county and those visiting Fauquier county.
